The Game Of Living With Balance
Mizan is a board game where players use cards to grow towards being ready for their dream job. Different cards develop different aspects of your life
Legacy (impact on the world)
Knowledge (learning and skills)
Wellness (emotional and physical wellbeing)
Gold (material goods and funds)
It’s not all smooth sailing. There are costs, there are bills. There are random events that will change your fortune, and there are other players to contend with. The first player who builds the points needed for their goals wins the game and takes the first step in their career.
While Mizan is a physical game with real cards that can get soggy in the rain, we also have a free digital version created on the digital board game platform Tabletopia. Want to have a game? Follow the instructions below. Give yourself about 15 minutes to get started.
To play with friends online
Gather 1-3 friends online, each with their own computer.
Watch this video together.
Or if you are more of a reader, read the digital rulebook.Login in or set up a free Tabletopia account. Only the host needs to create an account.
You as the host (not your friends) click here.
You now have you own unique game web page.
Share that new page link with the other players.Press ‘Add Seat’ for each player.
Each player clicks ‘Take Seat’ to join, then ‘Ready’.
Click the ‘Start’ button.
The digital game works like real life. There is no end turn button. Nothing telling you what you can and can’t do. You need to know the rules (refer to step 2 for guidance). Instructions for controls can be accessed by clicking the question mark in the bottom left corner, but here is a quick overview:
You move cards and tokens around with the cursor.
Hold shift to select multiple cards.
To add a card to the top of a pile, hold the card over the pile until it turns orange then let go. If you hold down shift when you let go, it will add the card to the bottom of the pile.
Hover your cursor over a card and press the ‘space key’ to zoom in or press ‘F’ to flip the card.
Drag a card from a pile to the bottom of your screen until your player colour appears, and the card is in your hand hidden from other players.
The rules can also be accessed in game by clicking on the page icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
After having a game, we would love to learn about your experience. If you can please spare 5 minutes to fill out a quick survey, that would help make the game better for everyone.
